Issues related to Trix 22324 loco

#1 von VikenSheth , 12.04.2022 13:10

Hello,

I have Trix 22324 class 24 steam loco. After opening the box, the loco was working ok as per the factory settings. All the functions, smoke and sound, were also working ok. I then wanted to change the address, acceleration, deceleration and top speed of the loco and hence proceeded to change CVs 1, 3, 4 and 5.
After doing so, I noticed that all the sounds were not working. Smoke was still working. I also noticed that I could not change any CV values after this. I tried CV8 = 8 for hard reset but it still did not work. If I try to read any CV values, it gives me 255 as value.

I will appreciate if someone can help me bring back this loco to factory values.

Thanks,
Viken

Did you disable any other protocol in your station? Maybe it trys MFX instead of DCC?

Hello Elmar,

We have not disabled any of the protocols. The command station which I am using is Roco-z21 white.

Thats my fault, I guessed you are using the Märklin/Trixx Station and not the z21 of Roco/Fleischmann.
Are you sure, that it changed the loco address? Not that the loco still has address 3 instead.

Hi Viken,

Do you have acces to a CS2 or cs3?

I prefer to rewrite the „Dekoderprojekt“ vom the Trix Homepage. Therefore you need a CS2 oder cs3 and a pc with the mdt3 Tool from Märklin.

And for programming of the Märklin/Trix mLD3 and mSD3 Dekoder is a ms2 verry helpfull.

Best regards, Michael

Hello Elmar,

Yes, the address is changed. This CV1 can be even changed now.

Hello Michael,

No, I don't have access to CS2 and CS3 . I don't use Marklin system. Its Roco z21- white DCC system.

Viken,

Just purchased a Trix DSB type MV loco.

I can read CV’s I can program CVs (despite it ends up with an error) but I couldn’t run the Loco or switch any function, until I switched off MM protocol on my Z21.
I suggest that you switch off the MM protocol in your z21 as well……

Hi Klaus,

I did the testing as per your suggestion. Below is the observation for your reference.

Changed the protocol from DCC& MM to DCC only
Read CV-1 the address shows 255
Write CV-1 to 14 the locomotive light goes ON and OFF
Read CV-1 the address shows 191
The light and speed functions are working on address 3 without sound.

Request to you please suggest further on this issue.

Regards,
Viken
