Well gues I'm finished with the first part of the deck, after touching all the boards ends wth a A/I wash and AK slimy grime I gave the entire deck another wash with an A/I mixture of black, brown and sepia..After a drybrush with acrylic titanium buff dark it still hadn't the old weathered look I wanted and it looked quit funny with the hard drybrushed edges. Gave it again a wash with an A/i solution of grey / walnut and black..happy with the result now, just some minor rust touch ups along the track..after this another 4 foot, think I'm gonna shoot a video doin it..

With some subtile rust on the boards along the track I do think this piece of the wharf is done and I can move on to the other 4 foot. Also made a start on mosses and grass inbetween the cobbles..no grasses yet but they follow..Al the weathering products in a picture except for the titanium buff dark acrylic paint and the A/I washes I use. One is 150ml alcohol with 5ml sepia, 5ml brown and 5ml black Daler Rowney FW acrylic ink. The other almost the same but with Sennelier walnut and grey, they are shellack based inks and need a constant thorough shake of the bottle. The can be diluted with water but badly with alcohol..

Time for the messy static grass job, adding 1 and 2mm fibers between the cobbles..

With the next show coming up at the end of September I'm working on finishing all the weathering on the buildings. Touched up all the boards ends with an alcohol/ink solution with after that a drybrush maybe more a kinda white wash to soften it.. started on the mossy greens on the lower parts using Ammo slimy grime dark..sometimes I think it's a bit to green and mybe it needs a filter of some kind..but wich one?

Well more try and errors to achieve this moist lower sides of the coal dealer..after the first coat yesterday with Ammo slimy grime dark I added another with Ammo slimy grime light followed by streaks of Ammo darkbrown for green. On one building I added a coat of factory grey Mig pigments..fixed with odourless thinner..not certain wich one I'm more satisfied with..

I like your weathering of the buildings.
I use for my weathering powder pigments to get the moss-green looking.

After looking a long time at the last weathring pictures I think someting is missing.
How are the vertical wooden-boards are fixed in original?

Nails? Rusty old nails.

Also at the Z at the doors I missed some rusty nails.

habe den gebrauch von nailholes schon auf US foren discutiert. Vielleicht das ich da die illusion noch anbringe aber richtige locher sind oft vielzu grob..Vielleicht, fur die bretchen auf meinen wharf habe ich davon abgesehen. Solten den 14800 locher werden

die Nägel kann man gut mit einem feinen Bleistift andeuten das funktioniert sogar noch bei H0.
Die Rostspuren dann noch mit Farbe oder Pigmenten dazu.

Aber 14800 Nägel ist natürlich schon eine ganze Menge!

In H0 mags funzen, in allen größeren Maßstäben ... eher nicht !

Echte Nägel, besser kleinste Nieten ( z.B. von Fohrmann ) würden allerdings den Vogel der Detaillierung vom Himmel holen !

... jetzt weiß ich auch was mir trotz der fantastischen Arbeit an den Holzmodellen gefehlt hat !

Bei meiner Tür in H0 hat der Trick mit dem Bleistift auch funktioniert.
Die Nieten habe ich nur für meine Türbeschläge benutzt.

Jau, in der direkten Draufsicht überzeugt die Ansicht.
Im Streiflicht aber sicherlich nicht !?

Mag sein aber Marcel arbeitet ja noch ein masstab grosser, ein 0,5mm eindruck ist schon ein 2,4cm nagel.. und 14800 im deck..nicht fur Leipzig..

Made a start on additional weathering of the big wharf module. Touching up the boards ends with a alcohol/ink wash followed by Ammo slimy grime dark, boards around the track areweathered wih MIG pigments russian earth and industrial city dirt. Inbetween some streaking effects on the backwall of the coal bunker. Video is running along to shoot a short tutorial about weathering this wharf..

Almost done with weathering the deck of the 4 foot wharf on this module. After adding limy grime to the board ends I let it dry for a day. Today a light drybrush with a acrylic titanium buff dark. Followed by an alcohol /ink wash. Grey / Walnut / Black..now I just have to touch up the boards ends along the track with some rust streaks and washes and I can concentrate myself on the other buildings.
