This is my first post here and as Im not great in German (read only) i will write down in Englsih.

This small project is quite interesting and I would like to share it.

Marklin coach wagon is selected for installation of digital coupling and LED light
There are few requirements. When F9 is pressed down digital coupling shall uncouple rest of the train with programmed movement.

Wish list:
1. Existing PCB needs to be converted - to 17 independent LED
2. ESU decoder shall be installed in the rest room
3. More than 4 m cables needs to be installed through main corridor ?!?!
4. Contact to be installed on main axle
5. Viessmann coupling needs to be install on front side of the coach wagon
6. Marklin digital couling needs to be install on other end
7. 2 powerful capacitors 2000uF 25V needs to be installed
8. Programming and mapping: F0, F1, F2, F3, F4.....

Original PC has been significantly modified :_) and converted

but why are there so many cables, while having a slightly unpopulated PCB?

And how did you convert the Fx Decoder for 17 independent functions? Via bit shifting?

Original PCB have LED connected to one closed circuit with resistors, but PCB is designed to be easily converted to 8 Independent's groups as it is shown on first picture.

FX decoder consist of 6 exits or AUX. 17 LED are groped to 6 PCB groups which are connected to all 6 decoder AUX. New SMD resistors are installed on the bottom of the PCB.

For that reason there are many cables from each decoder AUX terminal to PCB and additionally cables of to two large capacitors and electric Marklin coupling at the end of the wagon ++

After that all functions, particularly lights, are mapped using ESU decoder progamer .
Eg. when train change direction and start to move, after 6 sec. light in toilet is on for 10 sec.
Also when train starts to move, group of lights starts to turn off in different time sequences.

It was quite complicate programming due to several parametrise like; train direction, train moment, etc.

Now there is one more complex task to program mFX and ESU decoder on same address and to keep all functions.
First testing was not great at all. CS3 is blind for ESU mapping
