Hello Ian,

you musst remove the last part of your youtube-link, exactly this:

Then copy the rest, so it will work with http:// at first, looks like this: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wLrYxScjEwM

Hallo,

Again,I would like to thank everyone for the warm welcome to the forum.

I could share a little of my Märklin journey with you.

I got my first Märklin Loco, a CM800 in 1959 for my Xmas present, I was 7 years old.

That same Loco was the first one to run in my new Train Room.

You will all know the story, growing up, motorbikes, cars...and still cars , girlfriend/wife, kids.....

I built a few small layouts over all those years, but it was only in 2009 that I felt ready to restart my Märklin Railroad.

I started looking at information on Märklin and read about....digital....what is that.

Next was where to build the layout....I decided on a Log Cabin (6m by 5m ) in the garden.

I built a 20m2 layout running both analog and digital Loco's.

During March this year the layout was dismantled and all the rolling stock/buildings etc moved to the new Train Room.

Hallo Ian,

your old layout with the M-Gleis is very interesting. I like that old stuff from the 60's and 70's most. It reminds me of my childhood and the models that I liked to have then. But most of them were out of reach in case of the money. Now I buy my old favourits step by step and enjoy them.
But it's not even the rolling stock. I also like the old Faller and Vau-Pe buildings. I guess you have also a lot of them!

Hallo,

I hope some forum members can help.....

I tried to write this in German using Google translation....but I failed..sorry.

My question is...how do I update my thread..

When I try to post more information , it tells me to edit my last post, and this then gets added to my thread but not as a new post.

Those who know me on this forum will know I like to post new information on my anlage once or twice every day.

Danke.

Ian.

Hi Ian,

this is a feature of the forum software.
It reminds you, that you have the possibility to edit your post.
In some forums the admins don’t like double posts.

But if you like to write a new post and nobody had answered your old one, it’s no problem to write two following posts.

If you have a click at "antworten" you will write a new post. If you choose "ändern" in a single post you can edit it.

Is this what you wanted to know?

Gruß Florian

Hallo,

I'm sure many of the forum members will know this already, but I will try to show the difference between the Gleise 1935,1936 and 1937.

Hallo,

Gleise Links...1935...the first year Märklin made OO/HO Gleis

Gleis has 1mm center rail and 2 securing holes to the outside of the rails in the middle of the track section.
....

Gleis middle..1936...

Gleis has a 2mm center rail.

Gleis Rechts..1937.

The securing holes are moved inside the rails and to each end of the track section.

We have cable cutouts fitted to the middle of the track section.

I hope the fotos help explain the difference in the Gleise.

Hey Ian,

great pictures of your 1927 models.
I've never seen such a model train before.

And I also like to thank you for your comparison of the early H0 tracks.

Hi Florian,

Thanks very much.

Is there a Collectors section on the forum, maybe for the older Tracks/Loks.

Looking thro' Meine Anlage, I have not come accross any late 1930's layouts.

Also, is there a seperate section for showing fotos of new loks/wagens when you buy them.

Sorry for all the questions and thanks again for your help.

Ian.

Hi Ian,

wow, that was a train for children to play with. Not what they sell now.Full of Metal! There can nothing brake down.

Here in the forum is a "special area" ( not enough english knowledge ops: )
You find it there at the startpage: "Sammeln / Alte Modellbahnen"

I'll waiting for new fotos!

Hi Ian,

there is a section called Sammeln / Alte Modellbahnen which will be translated as "Collection / Old model railroad"

There are not many people here who collects such old models.
At "meine Anlage" I only know the "Märklin 1959 construction by Christoph79"
