Hier ist ein anderer sehr interessanter Zug, den ich geben werde, laufend Zeit, aber ein wenig späteres rechtzeitig als es sollte sein.

Sehr interessant ist F 37:
Es läuft nur Überwintert 1962/1963 mit Dampf loco 03.10.
Die Bildung der wagen: Gegenüber von F38, aber von Frankfurt über Köln zu Hagen am Ende des traincomposition ein blauer Gepäck wagen „Düse“, hat in 1939 gebaut.
Dieser Typ läuft til 1962 mit F 9/10 „Rheingold. Am Montag hat der „Düse“ D 84 über Siegen zu Frankfurt(M) zurückgenommen. Dienstag zum Sonntag läuft der Düse zurück mit Express/Post-Zug zu Frankfurt(M).

Very interesting is F 37:
It runs only Winter 1962/1963 with steam loco 03.10.
The formation of the coaches: Opposite of F38, but from Frankfurt via Köln to Hagen at the end of the traincomposition a blue baggage coach "Düse", built in 1939. This type runs till 1962 with F 9/10 "Rheingold.
On Monday, the "Düse" took D 84 via Siegen back to Frankfurt(M). Tuesday to Sunday the Düse runs back with Express/Post-train to Frankfurt(M).

Dear David,

a little bit more informatioon about the "Milchkesselwagen" : In the earlier of EP III the net of highway and street wasǹt so well in Germany. So the farmers bring their milk to small stations with have a track and their "Deutsche Bundesbahn" have had "Milchkesselwagen". They put this waggon on each train with maximum speed to carry the milk to the next firm who is able to work with it.

In "my area" it was the firm call "Moha" and often the milk was going with "F-" an "D-Zug" behind. Sometimes "Deutsche Bundesbahn" also carry the milk with "Leig-Einheiten" together.

Hi David,

I love your layout. Bahnhof Wuppertal Elberfeld is a station that I have been very often in my childhood, because it was the next big station to where I grew up. My childhood means the mid-80s so I what I remember from that time are the "Epoche IV" IC trains with 103 locos, blue 110/112, Diesel 212 with "Silberling" coaches, and 515 accumulator-powered trains.

And sometimes I am still there. The station building is the same, but a huge area in front of it (street side) is currently TOTALLY rebuilt, one of Wuppertal's major city rebuild projects today.

I have taken some pics last time I was there, September 2013. There is a small walkway for pedestrians that takes you right over the center of the platforms. I have no idea when this walkway was installed, nor when the current-style platform roofs have been installed, but all these are at least there since the 1980s. Anyway, this is the view from that walkway in the direction to Dortmund:



This is a couple of close-ups of the picture before. In the back you can just see the blue car on the bridge. I assume this is the street you are also modeling in your layout?



What is probably of interest are all the trees between the station buildings and that street.

Now a closeup of the picture above. There is a new (I guess 1990s or even 2000s) building in the background behind the sloping road. That road currently is a major road that leads to Wuppertal city center and the station entrance (the area that today is a huge work in progress....). Again, I don't know how that road has looked in the 1950s/60s:



Another picture, this time you can see a bit of the station building to the right:



When you compare the Cologne/Düsseldorf end of the station to the Dortmund end, you can see that the latter one looks considerably more "enclosed" by the brick walls and trees and stuff while the Cologne/Düsseldorf end has a bit more open space. All these walls are inclined a bit, i.e. not exactly vertical. DIRECTLY behind the walls, on top of it, there is a small street and lots of residential buildings. So, the small walkway that I have taken the pictures of, leads to this area.

The last picture shows a train that renewed the ballast at the platform track 2, while I was waiting for my own train (to Cologne) on platform 1:



I can't promise that I'll be there the next couple of weeks, but I almost 100% will be there at least once some time in January, so if it's of any help, I can take pictures of whatever you probably would like to see. A lot has changed from the 1960s till today but some things (such as the general situation with the surrounding brick walls, or the main building etc.) are of course the same. Thomas
