RE: Using Viessmann lighting strips

Hi everyone. I am currently lighting three Roco SBB coaches using Viessmann lighting strips. I have bought one - Viessmann 5050 lighting strip.

One strip works fine in a single coach. I have now fitted Viessmann conductive couples between three coaches and now want to light the final two.

One end of the Viessmann strip takes the DCC power from the track. What I need to know is how do I power the other two strips. Do I:

1. Run the DCC power through the first coach and feed that to the second and third coaches or
2. Cut off the rectifier part of the 2nd and third strips and feed them from the end of the fist one; i.e. with DC power?

Hi David

I would prefer Your first point. As far as I remember did I never cut off the rectifier part of my ESU-LEDs. But in Viessmann? Their operation manual doesn`t say anything about this:

Good luck and marry Christmas!

I think that you are right. I tried breaking one strip in half bot the non-rectifier part blew up! Feed DCC seems to be the way. Thanks for your help and have a great Xmas yourself.
