Today I decided to build the Bietschtal Bridge so that I can continue with the woodwork on one side of the layout. Although that will probably not happen for some time as I am waiting for some parts needed first.
Then went onto build the second part of my “Train Shed” (as Faller calls it). In total there will be 4. Took me – 10 minutes to build this one!
One picture I missed to show…. [img]https://farm4.staticflickr.com/3943/15750842145_26458fb8cd_b.jpg[/img
Du wolltest es ja nicht anders Yes british english is very well, american are so silly
Deine Neubauten gefallen mächtig. Wenn ich mich nicht irre habe ich die Bausätze, mit Ausnahme des Bahnsteiges, auch bei mir liegen. Bin mal gespannt, was daraus wird
Spent the last two evening building this church. Looks the part but it took forever to put together thanks to all the small details. It’s fitted with 5 lamps (only beaten by Bonn Station ( and Lokstall (18)).

Danke Markus!
Hat in moment genug mit "haus-bauen"!! Aber gestern kommt eine grosses paket von Merkur so das ich kann fortsetzen mit der gleis. Aber nur ein paar tage mehr, dann muss ich wieder wegfahren fur meine arbeit.
Have started with planning and mounting the first parts of the different power areas (sections). There will be a total of 5. I call them Red, Blue, Orange, Yellow and Green.
Red: CS2 - powers parts of Main Station and some "parking tracks" Blue: Mountain area Orange: Port/Industry + small station Yellow: Some of Main Station Green: All of Lokstall and servicing areas
Each and every section is hooked upto a 60V Switched Power Pack and through a Terminal.
Of course, cables needs tidying up and secured etc so a lot of work ahead.
One question though re the Terminal. As you can see on the pics, I have connected 4x Boosters to the Terminal just as Marklin say I can do (each section labeled). But what does the 5th connection point do (sits right opposite the cable that connects to the CS2)??
Terminal hooked up to each section + Power Pack for CS2.
Continued with wiring yesterday and the Green area is now fully wired to tracks and works fine! Green area is for the lokstalls/roundhouse, turntable and servicing areas.
Here’s a picture of a distribution strip (with Light when working) that I found on eBay. It works perfectly and can take really thick cables.
And the 2nd (or 3) for the Green area.
Coaling Station and other sericing items are all planned in where to go. Only the water sprouts are missing (not built yet).
“Sandhouse” in.
Roundhouse is now secured and in place. Each track is connected to power (Green) so smoke, lights etc can always be running and not only when track is connected to turntable.
Then, a very good friend of mine made this beautiful Terminal for my 40th which will fit very nicely around the port/industry area once built. The whole build has so much detail and will be fitted with lighting inside and out!
Inside.
Office with the “ever-so-important” air conditioning unit!
The last couple of days have mainly seen work done under the table (and yes, more head damage done!) cleaning up the wiring done so far. But I also managed to put up some of the signals. These are simple 4011 Viessmann signals and look the part.
So have finally managed to connect one of the signals to test and it works!
Got fed up with it so decided to start setting down what will be the platforms of the station. The length allows me to use 9 wagon trains and I think the height is pretty good too.
Finally! The signals are all connected and working fine. I am using a good old fashion red/green switch from Wiessmann, which will do the job just right for me.
A lot of wiring putting them in but similar to a normal turnout.
Not shown on these pictures are also the black paint I have added in the tunnels, well not all but at least at the start of them.
I also removed two signals that were not only in the wrong place (which I knew) but would stand inside of a tunnel and thus, no good.
At night!
The connection boxes from Wiessmann.
A taste of the wiring. This is nothing….
Now we can move onto the wood work of the next phase (mountain area)!

Today started with finding out that my uncle had passed away during the night, but I needed to move on to think about something else so decided to spend the whole day in the train room. Lots of cleaning up, going through stock and just making order. Then decided what to do next, well….we have light and more done to platforms!
Bumber ends/stops with light.
My lokstall with light (Faller Microbulbs, LED).
Have also filled the gaps in my platforms. This is a very hard styrofoam that comes from Merkur Styroplast. A dream to work with and simply glued down. Around this and to create a smooth surface of the platforms, I’ll be using normal plaster and then painted.
Then I moved onto under the table and cleaned up the cables a bit more. Now one can see nothing (well, one cable which is to the CS2). I have also organised and mounted transformers and some cabling for building and street lightning on the right hand side of the layout. Next to the CS2 cable is the main switch for everything.
