Yet another paint scheme of famous Soviet diesel loco is now in Z scale too - very nice! Originally it was a TE-109 (Soviet classification) for 1520 mm gauge with SA-3 couplers:



There was also a 2-unit modification:

Locomotive was built in Luhansk Diesel Locomotive Building Works - one of the largest Soviet locomotive building factories, located in Ukraine. Here is where these locos were built:


In 2005-2008 Ukraine revived TE-109 project and made deeply modernized version called TEP-150 (max. speed 160 kph). Totally 4 machines were built:





And here is the modern look of Luhansk Diesel Locomotive Building Works gripped by a military crisis. Very sad:

Wir haben heute auch einige 88134 mit dem Sounddecoder von Claudius ausgestattet. Alles super, passt und funktioniert.

I have not acquired 88134 yet, but I have all other Marklin Z BR 232 locos (88131, 88132, 88133, 81450) and I can say that handrail imitation in front of cabins is one of the most vulnerable parts of this locomotive. In most cases these scratches aren't a factory fault of painting; locomotive get them in package, even with polythene protection film. As for me, it's not a problem - I bought new unplayed BR 232 locomotives already with these scratches and had to restore paint manually.

The problem is that Marklin often make plastic inlays for their Z locomotives and cars too tight, so they can be easily damaged. Sometimes it's even hard to take out locomotive from the box. Marklin should pay attention to this problem and make their packages a little looser.

Das zweite Auslieferungslos von 88134 ist raus aus dem Werk. Die Lok ist also in Kürze wieder in Stückzahlen verfügbar.
